Week 2: Team Update

April 10, 2012

Week 1 showed and informed the basics of a trust bridge design. Although there have been successes, there have also been failures. This course, Engineering 103 Bridge Competition, was designed to educate students the trial and error process of designing and constructing a trust bridge from a K-Nex kit. Before the process could begin, a team of three members was created and a basic lecture was given about successes and failures of bridges, different types of materials used and programs that could be utilized to assist the education development of engineering.

Week 2 will allow ideas of designs to begin flourishing by using the West Point Bridge Design program to test the designs of the bridges. Afterwards, the trial and error course will constantly be referred to improve on the technological method of the truss bridge.

Improvements for the week will consist of the team dynamic of leadership in the specific areas in the project. In addition, an overall timeline of the course project will be needed to be established.
