A1- Duane

The design of the bridge changed drastically throughout the design process.  It was basically trial and error until a specific pattern of the bars proved to be the best design.

This figure shows the design of the truss bridge.  The original design also had more bars, creating what looked like "X"'s. This method proved to be more expensive due to the increase in amount of materials used, but more importantly the bridge was too heavy and it collapsed.

The total cost of the bridge is: $343,065.96
From designing this bridge, I learned that you have to watch how much support you try to put on the bridge because the design will not be successful if the it is too heavy.
