Week 2: Corey Duane

In the prior week, the different kinds of bridges were discussed; with an emphasis on trust bridges.  The course objectives were outlined and the idea of using a weekly blog was explained.  The class then split into individual groups and began setting up their blog pages using blogger.  Next, the groups set up accounts on the West Point Bridge Design.  In the coming week, the group will design a basic trust bridge in a program to get a better understanding of these types of bridges.  Teamwork is very important.  The group cannot be successful without working together.  To be successful, the group members must be able to divide up the work and then come back together to create the final design.  One member will be responsible for recording data and all details accomplished in the labs.  Another member will be responsible for designing the trust bridge.  And finally, the last member will be responsible for creating the design on the computer.  Once the design is created, all members can discuss and critique each design.  This allows each member to contribute to the final design of the bridge.
